OBITUARY ************
DEACON WILLIAM J. HARRIS,SR. was born January 6, 1923 to the late George Harris and Lena Gray in Beech Island, South Carolina. He departed this life December 24, 1995.
He was converted and baptized at People Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Hale Street Baptist Church. In his adult life he was employed 40 years at the USO and 37 years at University Hospital.
Cherishing fond memories a dear wife, Mrs. Verda M. Shaw Harris; one son Deacon William J. Harris, Jr.; two daughters, Miss. Betty J. Harris and Miss. Alesia Harris; one sister , Miss. Janie Harris; mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Shaw Wilson; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Harris; four brothers-in-law, Mr. Ulysses Shaw, Mr. Richard Shaw, Mr. Louis Shaw and Mr. Robert Shaw; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Frances Jones and Ms. Earthia Shaw-DAntignac; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a devoted god-daughter, Janice Curry, a devoted friend, Mr. Albert Lawrence and a host of other relatives and friends.

You was a Good Husband and Father, Your smile was a joy for me. You were a good And loving Father to Jr. and Lesa, and as a loving Husband you were trusting and caring. There was Nothing you failed to provide for your family.
