God looked around His garden andfound an empty space, and then looked down and

saw your tiredface; He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest; Gods garden

must be beautiful, for he only takes the best.

The Lord Jesus Christ being justified in His doings, deemed it necessary to call Mr. Lewis Harris home. Lewis was born in Lincolnton, Ga. on June 14, 1912, the eldest son of the late John and Selenia Harris.
At an early age, he was converted and baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lincolnton, Ga. After moving to Augusta, in the early 1940s, he united with the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully, unitl his health failed him on the Senior Usher Board and was a member in good standing of the June Birthmont Club.
He leaves to mourn their loss and cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife, Rebecca; one son, Vonnie Lee Harris, Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Kathleen Harris, Chicago, 111. and Rubinstein H. Johnson, Augusta, Ga.; one daughter-in-law; one son-in-law; four grandchildren, Beverly Harris, Terrance White, Wylshana Johnson and Rose Ann Bulloch; one great grandson, Michael Harris; three sisters, Eva Abdullah Griffin, Chicago, 111., Martha Murray, Augusta, Ga. and Reaver Zellars, Phila., PA; two brothers, Fred and Ulysses Harris both of Phila., PA and a host of loving and devoted nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
The remains will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the services. The body will not be viewed during services.
