Jeanette <Darlene Harley, daughter of the late Dorothy Gray
Harley was born on May 5, 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. She
departed this life on Thursday, August 10, 2006.
(Darlene was raised in Augusta, Georgia and attended the public
schools of Richmond County. She was a 1978 graduate of Lucy
C. Laney High School and a 1982 graduate of Savannah State
College in Savannah, Georgia.
Darlene resided in Savannah until moving back to New Jersey in
1989. She was a member of the Park Avenue Christian Church
in East Orange, New Jersey.

Darlene was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the
Department of Labor in New York City for over ten years.
The youngest of four children, Darlene was preceded in death by
her mother, Dorothy Gray Harley; her brother, Byron Butch
[] Harley and her sister, Cheryl Harley.
She leaves to cherish loving memories; one son, D Marquet
Ovon Gilliam; two daughters, Jaquetta Jeanette Ernestine
Collins and Latiefah Cheryl Ann Collins; one brother, Timothy
Craig Harley of Augusta, Georgia; her grandfather, James
Bosie Gray; his nieces and nephews, Lance Harley and
Dawan Harley, Kahmeelah, Kaliefah, Faheemah and Shermel ]
Vickers; five aunts, Dorothy King, Dolores Waltower and
Minerva Rhaney of Augusta, Georgia, Shirley Walker and Essie
Middlebrook of New York; three uncles, Archie Waltower and
Van Middlebrook of Augusta, Georgia and Carroll Harley of
Augusta, Georgia; a special friend, Robert Collins and a host of
H cousins, other relatives and friends.
