DEBORAH LAVERNE HALL was born on September 26, 1955 in Columbia County. She departed this life on April 13, 2011 at her residence.
At an early age she joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, w here Reverend C. S. Ham ilton was pastor.
Deborah was educated in the Richmond County Public School System. She was a graduate of Glenn Hills High School and also attended Augusta State University, w here she earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminology.
Deborah was a long term employee of the Richmond County Sheriffs Department and she made history by becoming the first female African American deputy for the departm ent. Deborah was also employed at the Augusta Recreation and Parks, where she worked until her health declined.
A loving father, Marshall Robinson, and an older sister, Dorothy "Dot" Wilder, both preceded her in death.
Deborah leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted mother, Mrs. Mildred Robinson; two sisters, Myrtis Ann Singleton of Augusta, Georgia and Lynn Robinson of Arizona; one brother, Jeffery Robinson of Wyoming; a special friend, Mr. Charles Kendrick of Augusta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Deborah touched the lives of may with her warm smile and fun-loving personality. She will be missed but not forgotten. Her m em ory will live on in our hearts forever.
