OBITUARY
2 Tim 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up fo r me a crown o f righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousjudge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
After sixty five years of an active life, Rev. Sim Edward Gunby, a beloved brother, uncle, pastor and friend passed from this life into the realm of the eternal.. . The faith and hope of a crown of righteousness now awaits him.
He was bom April 20,1931 to the late Rev. Sim G. Gunby and Doris Freeman Gunby and spent the majority of his adult life in the First Baptist Community where he resided at the family home at 168 Gunby Lane. He was a member of the Gibson Grove Baptist Church in Washington, Georgia and the pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Washington, Georgia as well as the past pastor of several other churches. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. He was also a licensed funeral director in the State of Georgia and a member of the Good Samaritan Lodge. He maintained many affiliations with other religious and civic associa tions.

Poem
God has not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through,
God has not promised sun without rain,
Peace without sorrow, jo y without pain,
But God has promised strength for the day,
Restfor the labor, lightfor the way,
Gracefor the trials, helpfrom above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

A CKNO WLEDGEMENT
Perhaps you sang a lovely song or sat quietly in a chair; Perhaps you sent beautiful flowers, if so, we saw them there Perhaps you sent or spoke kind words as any friend could say; Perhaps you were not there at all---just thought of us that night, Perhaps you prepared some tasty food or maybe furnished a car; Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, near at hand or from afar Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much-- whatever the part.
