Mrs. Alma Marguerite Williams Greene was the daughter of the late Henry and Jessie Williams. And the wife of the late Charles Edward Greene. She was born in Lincoln County, Georgia but grew up in Richmond County, Georgia where she attended school. It was in this county that she prepared herself for her career work in catering. Principal fosterers for her catering were Mrs. W. C. Lyeth and Mrs. C. B. Rhodes. For more than twenty-five years her catering work was known and appreciated in the Central Savannah River Area.
Being born into a Christian family, Mrs. Greene became affiliated with the Piney Grove Baptist Church. She served faithfully and remained a mem ber until her death.
A friend to a multitude, her life was spent in serving others. It was not necessary to ask for her help, she was always there when needed.
She will be sorely missed by her two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Thompkins and Mrs. Mildred Hankerson of Augusta; five brothers, Mr. Henry Williams of Chicago, and Messrs. George Williams, Orin Williams, Edward Williams and Terrell Williams of Augusta; four nephews, Mr. Henry Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Richard Williams of Los Angles, Mr. Eric Hankerson of Augjsta and Mr. Miles Williams of Chicago; five nieces, Miss Mattie Williams and Mrs. Ernestine Banks of Chicago, Mrs. Joyce Dejore of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Mrs. Corlis Ivey and Mrs. Deborah Bennett of Augusta; in-laws, Mrs. Margaret Williams, Mr. Fred Thompkins, Mrs. Belle Williams, Mrs. Rosa Williams, Mrs. Ethel Williams and Mr. Benjamin Hankerson; seven great nephews; five great nieces and other relatives and friends.

THE CLOCK OF LIFE
The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power
To tell just when the hand will stop -- A t late or early hour.
Now is the only time you own! Live, love, toil with will!
Place not faith in "'tomorrow", for The clock may then be still.
