Mrs. Rupert Adams Grant peacefully departed this life Saturday, April 4, 2009. Born on October 7, 1920, in Keysville, GA, Mrs. Grant was one of eleven children bom to the late Jim and Annie Marshall Adams. In addition to her parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. She was first married to her high school sweetheart, Charlie Williams, in 1938 and traveled throughout the northern United States during his service in the United States Army. After his death, she lived in Battle Creek, Michigan and later married James Clark who also preceded her in death. After her marriage to Raymond Grant, they lived in Richmond, IN. He preceded her in death in 2001.
s. Grant was a deeply spiritual woman and served hithfully and generously as a member of the Greater econd Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a faithful volunteer at a local senior adult center. In retirement, Mrs. Grant cheerfully shared with others the knowledge and experience gained as a retail industry associate for over thirty years.
Totally devoted to family, she was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. To continue her legacy of generosity and love are three sisters, Elizabeth Adams Bert, Annie Ruth Adams Green, Augusta; Myrtis Adams Roberts, Atlanta; and a brother, Arthur Adams of Augusta; a stepson, Jerry (Janet) Wilson, Battle Creek, MI; and step daughter-in-law, Blondelle Grant, Carson, CA; beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family gratefully acknowledges her many friends in the Richmond, IN community and extends a special thank you to Vicky Bryant, a neighbor and friend, for the care and support she gave to Mrs. Grant.
