CLARENCE FRANCIS GRANT was born in Augusta, Georgia, to Claude and Sadie Maryland Grant. He was one of four brothers and sisters.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the church in that city.
Clarence attended the public school there. He is a graduate of Walker Baptist Institute and Paine College. Clarence served in the armed forces from 1942 - 1945, where he recieved many medals and awards with an honorable discharge.
Mr. Grant moved to Detroit in 1946 and soon placed his member ship with the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He met Miss Lenore Jackson and later they were united in Holy Wedlock. To this union one child was born.
He was employed as an inspector for Ford Motor Company.
He attended the worship services faithfully.
He departed this life Saturday, February 25, 1978 at 2:30 p.m., in Henry Ford Hospital.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Lenore; one son, Darryl Clarence; tw o sisters, Mrs. Juanita G. McClettie of Charlotte, N. C. and Mrs. Claudia Thomas of Augusta, Ga.; two aunts, Mrs. Claudia N. Johnson and Mrs. Emma Tubman; two uncles, Mr. Hiram Grant and Mr. Nathenial Carter all of Augusta, Georgia; nephews, Claude D. Grant of New York City, Maurice McClettie of Charlotte, North Carolina, Glenn McClettie also of North Carolina; tw o nieces, Vicky M. Bailey of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kimala Maryland Thomas of Augusta, Georgia and a host of cousins and friends.
