He severed his country in the United States Marines during World War II. In 1952 Eddie Roy and his family moved to Philadelphia, P.A. where he lived and worked for over thirty years.
He attended Thankful Baptist Church in Philadelphia. In 1981, he returned to Saluda, S.C. to live and enjoy gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved to entertain his family and friends.
On September 5th, 1998 he married Carrie Bell Lott at the family farm on Helen Drive. On Sunday evening, January 6th, 2008, God selected another angel; Eddie Roy slipped into eternal peace at his home.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Mrs. Carrie Bell Graham of Saluda, S.C., two daughters, Mrs. Annie S. Bryant Williams of Philadelphia, P.A. and Dr. Patricia Graham of Bushkill, P.A., one son Mr. Tommie Roney of Saluda, S.C. Four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step daughters; two stepsons; nine step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren. Two sisters - Mary Helen Johnson and Louise Etheredge, both of Philadelphia, P.A. He leaves two aunts aunts Mrs. Gaynell McCarary of Springfield, 111., Mrs. Elizabeth Graham of Monetta, S.C. and one uncle Mr. Preston McCrary of Springfield, III, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
