H.Qeier, entered into rest on December 20, 1997, at

University Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was bom in Aiken County, South Carolina on November 7, 1923, to the late Alberta Geter.

Accepting the Lord at an early age, he was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Langley, South Carolina. He later served as a Deacon. After moving to Augusta, he joined Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as Trustee then as a Deacon, until health failed him. Mr. Geter was also a member of the C. S. Hamilton Male Choir.

He was a World War II Veteran and was employed at the V. A. Hospital where he retired after thirty-five years of service.

He is survived by: his son, Roland L. Geter, of Augusta, GA; his daughter, Millicent Geter Peek, of Stone Mountain, GA; three grandchildren, Bertram A. Peek, of Augusta, GA; Charlene R. Peek and Daniel A. Peek, both of Stone Mountain, GA; two great grandchildren, D'Andra and Andre' Peek, both of Augusta, GA; two aunts, Lizzie Gaines, of Langley, SC and Rubena Little, of Augusta, GA; two uncles, Dea. George Geter, of Langley, SC and Jerry Geter, of North Augusta, SC; a close cousin, Juanita Simpkins, of Aiken, SC; and a number of other cousins and close friends.
