"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. ..."

On the morning of August 26, 1988, the angel of silence came into a room at Wills Memorial Hospital and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Mrs. Nell H. Freeman Gartrell, our loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin, and sister-in-law. Her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of
eternal rest. There are some lives that disappoint us, some impressions of character
which we have to revise in later years, but the impression that was form ed of Mrs. Nell when you first met her remained unchanged to the end of
her life. Mrs. Gartrell was not selfish, hence she felt she needed someone to go
by her side and enjoy whatever she might accumulate in life, so she mar ried Mr. Joe F. Gartrell. To this union, four sons were born, one of whom preceded her to the grave. To her family, she was loving and faithful and strove to make them comfortable and happy.
Those who are deeply touched include her husband, Mr. Joe F. Gar trell; three sons, Mr. Joe S. Gartrell and Mr. William Gartrell of Lincolnton, Ga., Mr. Lucius Gartrell, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred E. Robinson, Augusta, Ga., and Mrs. Bernice Lewis, Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three daughters-in-law, Mrs. Martha R. Gartrell, Mrs. Louella Gartrell, and Mrs. Mary Gartrell; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Marshall Robinson and Mr. George C. Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
to mourn her passing.

Work and pray till Jesus calls you,

Help to gather in the grain.

Then with joy we will meet our loved one,

And there in happiness remain.

:,

From this world of pain and sorrow, To a world of peace and rest;
God has taken our loved one, Where she will have eternal rest.
Peacefully sleeping, resting at last, The world-weary travels and trials are past.
In silence she suffered, in patient she bore Till God called her home to suffer no more.

God saw the road was getting rough; the hills were hard to climb.
He gently closed those loving eyes, and whispered , "Peace be thine."
The weary hours, the days of pain; the sleepless nights are passed. The ever-patient worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last.
