Obituary
Alfred Melvin G arnett was born on March 31,1957 in Augusta, Ga. to the late Mable Anderson. He departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2 0 0 5 a t the Augusta Hills Nursing Facility.
Alfred attended the Richmond County Public Schools and graduated from Westside High. A fter graduation, he attended Brewton-Rarker College in Mt. Vernon, Ga. for two years on a basketball scholarship. He was a dynamic piayer and dearly loved the game of basketball.
He united with Cumming Grove S a p tist Church a t an early age, but later joined Friendship Saptist.
Alfred worked a t Mulherin Lumber Company for fifteen years until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons; Alfred Melvin Gam ett, Jr., Rostrella Gamet t and Trey Gamett, all of Augusta, five sisters, Patricia Gamet t and Rhonda Hawes (James), Evans, Ga., Evangelist Sharon Bracey (Lavon), Mt. Olive, North Carolina, Paula Gam ett, and Mable Anderson, both of Augusta, two brothers; Nathaniel Gamet t (Jean) and James Anderson, Augusta, Ga., one uncle, Senjamin Gam et t (Brenda) Augusta, one aunt, Lucille Garnett, two great aunts, Luree Punn and Marie Green, Augusta, two great nieces, two great nephews, two dear friends, Carlton Allen and Tony Collins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Farewell our brother we have done all we can. Farewell my brother we will see you one day again. Walk into the arms of our Lord now, and don't look back. Because He has called you home to be with Him. Your work is done here my brother, my friend. FAREWELL!
