The Obituary

into rest on April 17, 2000. She was born July 6, 1937 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Garfleld Waltower and Beatrice Harris Waltower. She attended the public schools of Richmond County and graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School, Class of 1956. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined Beulah Grove Baptist Church.
A caring and loving mother, Mrs. Gallop was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory six devoted children: W. L. "Butch" (Tracie) Gallop, Jr., of Augusta, Georgia; Carlton L. Gallop, Norcross, Georgia; Jackie R (Tony) Brayboy, Woodbridge, Virginia; Bruce A Gallop, North Augusta, South Carolina; Michelle Gallop, Augusta, Georgia and Jeffrey D. (Rolanda) Gallop, Palm Bay, Florida; one sister, Adrine Downs, Augusta, Georgia; three brothers, Grady (Minnie Lee) Waltower, Sr., W. Earl Waltower and James Waltower, all of Brooklyn, New York; sister-in-law, Josephine Waltower, Augusta, Georgia; aunt, Lula (Sammy) Johnson, Jersey City, New Jersey; uncle, Nathaniel (Bele) Harris, Orangeburg, South Carolina; five grandchildren; two beloved friends, Tabitha Kendrick and Tonya Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
