September 26, 1913, in Harlem, Georgia to Abner and Carrie
Johnson Ford. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 5, 2000.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Water Branch Baptist Church, Grovetown, Georgia, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, President of Club #5, Church Treasurer, Building Committee, member of the Deacons' Union and Benevolent Society. He was a 33" Mason with the Worshipful Master of Sunset Ix)dge #624 F&AAY.
Deacon Ford retired from Merry Brother's Brick and file Company, after forty (40) years of service and was the owner and operator of Ford's Garage.
For 50 years. Deacon Ford was united in Holy Matrimony to Idell Bennings Ford, who preceded him in death. This union was bless with a son, Melvin Eugene.
Deacon Ford leaves to cherish his memory': three sons, Oscar B. (Sherry') Ford, Jr., Phoenix, Arizona, Willie Joan) Ford, Philadelphia, PA, and Melvin E. (Dorothy) Ford, Augusta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jochannan, Mitchell, Tauna, Gerald, Glenn and M a'Keba; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Alexander Ford, Augusta, Georgia; one sister, Gladys Bennings, Augusta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Euland Bennings, Augusta, Georgia and Rob Willie Stevens, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Alberta Ford, Augusta, Georgia; like daughters, Annie J. Yancy, Sparta, Georgia, Barbara Ford and Joy Mack, both of Augusta, Georgia; like a son, Mike Avery', Augusta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, close cherished friends and soap opera friends.
