Robert Lee Floyd, son of the late Edward and Carrie Davis Floyd, passed away in the Newberry County Memorial Hospi tal Wednesday morning at an early hour.
Robert Lee was born and reared in Newberry where he spent most of his life. He attended the Miller Chapel Sunday School and joined the church at an early age, and has rendered service as a faithful Steward for many years.
He was a product of Drayton St. High School, Allen Univer sity and South Carolina State College. For thirty-five years, he served in the Public Schools of South Carolina as a teacher and Principal of John Ford High School, St. Matthews, South Carolina; Principal of the former Richlex High School, Irmo, South Carolina, and administrative Assistant of Lexington County Schools, District No. 5 at Ballentine, South Carolina.
His quiet manner attracted people to him, and his con scientious services won many hearts. He lived a quiet and use ful life.
Left to cherish his memory: A loving and devoted wife, Juanita Melrose D. Floyd; a sister, LaRossie F. Stephens, New berry, South Carolina; two brothers, Edward C. Floyd, New berry, South Carolina, and Clifton O'Dell Floyd, Edgefield, South Carolina; two nephews, Clifton Edward Floyd, Cincin nati, Ohio, and Winston Cardell Floyd, Nashville, Tennessee; one niece, Shelia Floyd Forman; one grandnephew; a fatherin law; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and num erous other relatives and friends.
