On Monday, September 8, 1997, God came for his own. Mrs. Melvina Evans entered into a peaceful rest at Brentwood Nursing Home. She was born July 13, 1924 to the late Mitchell and Marion Anderson. At an early age she was converted and baptized at Thompson Bridge Baptist Church were she was a faithful member and sang in the senior choir until her health failed. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Dave Evans Sr.To this union seven children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Jimmy Evans and wife Mar garet, Dave Evans and wife Patricia, and Eddie J. Evans and fiance Linda; four daughters: Marion Crawford and husband Roosevelt, Sarah Lewis, Anita Heyward and fiance Nathaniel, all of Tampa, FL, and Joann Crumbley of Waynesboro, GA; one brother: Moses Anderson and wife Eula, one sister: Beulah Williams and friend Johnny, and one god-son, Morgan Goodall, all of Tampa, FL; thirty grandchildren: Michael Evans and wife Pauline, Tina Edward, Marga ret Edward, Richard Quaterman, David Quaterman, Daniel Quaterman, Xavier Quaterman, Bertha Quaterman, Maketha Quaterman, Willie Palimore, Sharon Quaterman, Tasha Quaterman, Nicole Quaterman, Elnora Larry and husband Edward, Renae Heyward, Chris Heyward and wife Holly, Donnie Evans, Donna Evans, Lisa Evans, Mary Ann Evans, Ronnie Evans, Jimmy Evans Jr., John Evans, Thimothy Singleton, all of Tampa, FL, Travis Walker, Anita Crumbley, Trina Chance, all of Waynesboro, GA, Jacquline Lyons and husband Michael andThomas Crumbley, all of Augusta, GA; 64 great-grandchildren; one nephew: Moses Anderson Jr. of Tampa, FL; three nieces: Maureen Anderson & Jacquline Anderson of Tampa, FL and Johnnie Mae Jenkins and husband Sam of Auburndale, FL; special friend James Ervin of Waynesboro, GA and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
