OBITUARY
Servant of God Well Done, Rest from thy Love Employ The Battle Is Fought, The Victory Is Won Enter Thy Masters Joy
Bro. David Evans, son of the late Mose, Sr., and Evelyn R. Evans, was born Januarary 26, 1935, in Burke County, Georgia. He departed this life Sunday, February 10, 1985, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia.
At an early age, he joined Thompson Bridge Baptist Church and after moving away, united with Alien Chapel C.M.E. Church in Riverside, California. He worked faithfully there until he returned home to Waynesboro and reunited with Thompson Bridge Baptist Church. His leadership on the Trustee Board will always live in the church through the lives of those he touched and worked with in the Lords service. During the months of his illness, he leaned heavily on the Lord, calling upon Him to help bear the pain when many times he could have called upon his loved ones, but refused to do so, knowing they were already tired and overburdened.
He attended the public schools of Burke County and served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army.
