** OBITUARY * *
Mrs. Cora G. Elim was born December 11, 1900, the third of seven girls born to Rev. and Mrs. John Giles, of Columbia County, Georgia. At an early age, she was baptized and became a member of Water Branch Baptist Church. As a young adult she moved to Augusta, where she met and married Christopher Elim, Sr., who predeceased her. To this union was born one daughter and one son.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and in 1946 moved her church membership to Antioch Baptist Church. She was a member of the Deaconess Board and also served on the Mission Board. She was a committed and dedicated Christian woman.
She leaves to mourn her passing: a daughter, Mrs. Thelma T. Matthews; one son Mr. Christopher Elim, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edith G. Elim; two granddaughters, Mrs. Davis M. Snells, Columbia, S.C.; Mrs. Carmen M. LeValle, Hepzibah, Ga.; nephew, Mr. Joseph Carter, Hamilton, Ohio; nieces, Mrs. Mamie K. Griffin, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Louise A. Blake, Los Angeles, California; three grandsons, Gregory A. Matthews, Willie J. Seymore, Jacksonville, Florida, and Reginald K. Elim; foster grandson, Rev. Larry Fryer; two grandsonsin-law, John D. Snells, Columbia, S.C.; Colonel LeValle, III, Hepzibah, Ga.; three great granddaughters, other nieces, nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
