** OBITUARY**
Dea. Abron Elam, Jr., son of Mary T. Elam and the late Abron Elam, Sr. was born January 17, 1925 in Edgefield County, South Carolina and departed this life September 4, 1985 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
At an early age he was converted and baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church. In 1956 he was one of the first deacons ordained under the leadership of Rev. W. H. McCain. He was a member of Bethlehem Junior choir where he served as treasurer for a number of years. His favorite song was "Just One More Time." In 1981 he was elected chairman of the Deacon Board and held that position and served faithfully until his death. He also served in the United States Army World War II.
He was a self-employed contractor of Elam Masonry for over 20 years. His favorite sports were fishing and hunting.
He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved wife, Mrs. Minnie L. Elam; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia E. Jackson, Augusta, Ga., and Miss Mary D. Elam, Atlanta, Georgia; four sons, Mr. Abron Elam, III of Augusta, Ga., Mr. Bobby Elam of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. Michael Elam of Atlanta, Ga. and Mr. Alphonso Reeves of North Augusta, S.C.; his mother, Sis. Mary T. Elam of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Dunn of Evans, Ga. and Captain Hattie R. Elam of Beaufort, S.C.; a brother, Mr. Willard C. Elam of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, three Godchildren, one aunt, one uncle, father-in-law, Mr. Willie Johnson of Augusta, Ga.; four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Youve been called from labor to reward and we know youll be there to greet us. Weve been blessed by far to have known you and loved you. For you were not only our father, but our friend. You have touched each of our lives so profoundly with your humbleness and caring and sincere ways - No wonder God has called you home! Yes, Dad, we love you and you will be missed. We thank God for loaning you to us.
