**THE OBITUARY**
Lawrence Dicks, Sr. was born the fourth child of six children to the late Lamar Dicks and Frances Bates, on June 22, 1910, Barneswell, South Carolina. He expired this life November 8, 1980 in the confines of his residence.
Lawrence received his education in the public schools of Augusta, Georgia. Was an employee of First Federal Savings and Loan Association where he worked diligently for twenty-six (26) years.
He was an ardent member and deacon of Thankful Baptist Church. . . an institution he truly believed in and served.
Survivors include his devoted wife: Carrie L. Dicks; two daughters, Dorothy E. Dicks and Loretta D. Jefferson; three sons, Lawrence Dicks, Jr., Comer R. Dicks and William B. Dicks; one sister, Alberta M. Johnson; five grandchildren; one daughter-inlaw; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; he also leaves several other relatives and friends.
He who makes a sacrifice, So another may succeed,

For when we "give ourselves away" In sacrifice and love
We are "laying up rich treasure" In Gods Kingdom up above
