MRS. GUSSIE MAE DALLAS was born May 30, 1925 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Latimer Stokes, Sr. Gussie was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 8,2014 at The Place on Deans Bridge Road.
At an early age she was converted and baptized at Broadway Baptist Church by Reverend L. W. Westbrook.
Gussie attended schools in Augusta, Georgia and Haines Institute, where she graduated in 1945. After receiving her nursing degree, she was employed at MCG and University Hospital, where she worked until retiring after thirty-five years.
Gussie was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Robert Dallas; her daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Blount; her granddaughter, Carla Blount; and two brothers, Mr. Willie Stokes and Garrett Stokes.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Mr. Lawrence (Regina) Dallas and Mr. Kenneth Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Rupert Jones; one brother, Mr. Latimer (Marie) Stokes; sister-in-law, Mattie Stokes; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
