"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
A time to be born... James Ervin Curry, Jr. was born March 12, 1946 in Augusta, Georgia to Henrietta and the late James Curry, Sr.
A time to learn, live and love... James received his education from the Richmond County Public Schools and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School Class of 1964. He then served in the United States Army for three years, 1965 - 1968. After completing his military service, he was united in holy matrimony to Juanita Weeks on November 25, 1968, and to this union, two children were born, Mike and Tim. By trade, he was a furniture refinisher and repairer, a job he truly loved. He was a hard worker, but never over looked his family. He was a caring and loving father and husband, and friend. Everyone who knew him loved him.
A time to serve... James loved the Lord. At an early age, he was converted and baptized at Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Essie M. McIntyre. He loved singing and was a member of the Sarah Frazier Choir and the Essie M. McIntyre Male Chorus where he served faithfully. He also served on the Trustee Ministry and attended Bible Study and Church School faithfully.
A time to die... On Sunday, June 29, 2008, James Ervin Curry, Jr. made the transition from life into the presence of God. He leaves memories that will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones: his loving and devoted wife of thirty-nine years, Juanita Curry; two sons, Michael Edward (Katrina) Curry, Rochester Hills, Michigan and Timothy Darnell Curry, Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Deon, Ashley, Michael Jr. and Crysten; mother, Henrietta M. Curry, Augusta, Georgia; four sisters, Mary E. Williams, Patricia A. (James) Johnson, Minnie L. (Bobby) West and Antionette C. (Charlie) Thomas, all of Augusta, Georgia; one brother, Willie Eugene Curry, Augusta, Georgia; mother-in-law, Julia M. Weeks, Anniston, Alabama; aunts, Nancy C. Childs, Minnie L. Curry, Edith McCorkle, Margie (John) Ashley and Hattie Ann Johnson, all of Augusta, Georgia; one uncle, Walter Martin McCorkle, Augusta, Georgia; one brother-inlaw, Andrew (Helen) Weeks, III, Oxford, Alabama; two godchildren, Patrick J. Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia and Christa B. Crum, Augusta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Poring Tribute To Our father and grandfather
"You Were There39 You were there long ago, loving father you are
to give us the name o f each flower and star. You were there to cradle our heads to your chest,
To whisper soft comfort and quiet our rest. You were there as wegrew, as life opened new doors,
believing in us as your dreams became ours. You were therefor each valley as well as each peak,
singing our song i f our own voice grew weak. You were there even when we were quite unaware o fyour unmentioned worry or soft, tender prayer.
You were there in our joy The fir st by our sides with arms opened wide,
and eyes misty with pride. You were there through the hours, the days, and the years...
Our father, grandfather, ourfriend in both laughter and tears.
You were there - and we know that you always will be in a spacefilled with love, a t the Center o f us.
