How sweet it is at evening, after a long and well spent day, to close the eyes in slumber and restfrom the toil ofday. It is doubly sweet, at the close ofa well spent life, to turn ones face toward the sunset and quietly sink into the rest that knows no waking except in the presence of God.
Mrs. Mary Lou Curry departed this life to be with her heavenly father on January 1,2006. Mrs Curry was born on September 24, 1915 to the late Sam and Emma Lanham Curry in Aiken County, South Carolina. At an early age she was converted and baptized at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church by the late Dr. A.W Vincient, where she served diligently as an Usher for over seventy years and was Secretary for Club #2 for many years.
In 1955, Mary Lou united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Bony Curry who preceded her in death on May 28,2005. Their love for each other, the church and traveling enabled them to meet and make friends they cherished for a life time.
She was a member of the Lucy Laney Chapter #20 Order of the Eastern Stars and numerous other civic and social auxiliaries within her community.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Mrs. Louise (Lenwood) Quarles of Hamlet, North Carolina; sister and brother, Mrs. Geneva Jones of Augusta, Georgia, and Mr. James Curry of Detroit, Michigan; devoted nieces, Ms. Ruby Turner, Molly (Kevin) DAntinac and Frances (Herbert) Green; brother-in-law, Deacon Charlie Butler, Sr.; and a host of other caring stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"Fmjfree"
Dontgrieve far me, far now Im free. Im fallowing the path God laid far me. I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, Ifaund thatplace at the close ofday.
Ifmy parting has left avoid, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times ofsorrow, I wish you the sunshine oftomorrow. My lifes been full, I savored much, Goodfriends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Dont lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart, and share with me, God wanted me NOW, He set me free.
