Obituary
Just as I am without one plea But that thou blood was shed fo r me And that thou b id 'st me come to thee
Oh Lamb o f God, I come, I come.
cJanc^ Cummings, was bom March 15, 1919, in
Columbia County, Georgia to the late Voniel and Pinky Johnson Cummings. Her life's journey ended on April 21, 2000, at Doctors' Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was educated in the Church Schools of Columbia County.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Steiner Grove Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Lewis Price. She remained an active member, singing on the choir and served as the Church Secretary for over fifty years. She was a caring and loving person. Although she only birthed one child, she served as a second mother to the nieces, nephews, and great nieces that were reared in her home.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son, John M. Cummings; a loving sister-in-law, Mozelle Cummings; six nieces, Thelma White, Inez Becton, June Giles, Jannie Dozier, Linda Bennett and Gail Crawford; seven nephews, John E. Cummings, Charles Cummings, Jesse Cummings, George Cummings, Vernon Cummings, Leroy Cummings and Clarence Garnett; four special and devoted great nieces, Alice Cummings-Hall, Denise Cummings, LaKeshia Dozier and Tara Bennett, all of whom she spoiled; several great nieces, great nephews, many relatives and friends.
"In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:2-3, NKJV)

"This day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is

your strength."

(Neh. 8:10, NKJV)

1 have left my earthly home, But do not cry my child,
Unless they are tears o f joy. For I have entered eternity, It has been joyous to reunite with my mother, father, brothers, and sister. Up here I do notfe e l pain. And even though we are not together, Just because you can not see me, That does not mean you have to forget me,
Keep the memories and we will be together in our hearts And I promise I will watch over you, For God has made me an angel. One day soon we will be together again. Do not consider this good-bye. Consider this a "seeyou later". Butfo r now my time has come.
