On June 23, 9:25 P.M., at the Wills Memorial Hospital, one we loved and knew, stepped across the threshold that we call death.
Nelson was born January 9, 1920 in Wilkes County to the late Marshall and Ida Cullars. He joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church at an early age, where he served as a deacon. He was united in marriage to Mary D. Binns who preceded him in death. He was a retired orderly from the Wills Memorial Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Charles (Annie Kate) Cullars of Washington, GA and Nelson Cullars, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Carolyn (Henry) Dalton of Columbia, S.C. and Kate (Charles) Christain of Washington, D.C.; two stepsons, W. T. Irvin of Washington, GA and Fred Irvin of Rahway, N.J.; five sisters, Lillie P. Cullars, Evelyn Danner both of Washington, GA, Viola Freeman, Grace Parks both of Lincolnton, GA, and Anna Jackson of Philadelphia; three brothers, Robert Cullars, Jim Cullars and L.D. Cullars all of Washington, GA; fourteen grandchildren, four teen great-grandchildren, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his passing.

THROUGH IT ALL
Through it all, you left a beautiful memory, A sorrow to great to be told But to us, who loved you,
Your memory will never grow old.
God gave us strength to bear it, And courage to face the blow But what it meant to lose you, No one will ever know.
Your memory is a keepsake From which we shall never part; though God has you in His keeping. We shall always have you in our hearts.
