O bituary
1922-1394
We have come together today from various occupations at the call of death an event that is constantly ocurring around us; and within the range of our families, acquaintances and church family.
MRS. MATTIE LEE WRIGHT COLEMAN, a daughter of the late Joe Ben and Ada Culbreath Wright was born in Saluda County, on January 22,1922. OnThursday Morning, May 12,1994, the Death Angel came and bore away the bright spirit of Sister Coleman at the Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, SC after a short illness.
She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, SC. At an early age, she joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was a faithful and loyal member. She served in many positions within the church; president of the Missionary Society, vice-president of the Gospel Chorus, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer, chairperson of the program committee, Missionary Treasurer and a member of the Usher Board. She was also a life member of the NAACP, a member of the Begonia Garden Club, Women's Aide Society #88, Women's Auxiliary Choir and the Saluda Social Club. She worked faithfully and long and so let us praise God that she has, along with all other laborers found in God a place of rest. She was first married to the late Enoch W. Posey. To this union two children were born. Her second marriage was to the late Willie Coleman. She was a retired Homemaker with the Department of Social Services. She leaves to cherish her fond memories; a daughter, Willie P. Holloway, Saluda, SC; one son, Enoch W. Posey, Jr. of Washington, DC; five sister, Laura A. Wright and Thelma Triplin, Saluda, SC, Annie B. Chappelle, Greenwood, SC, Eliza Wright and Christine Wright, New York City, NY; two brothers, Mitchell Wright, Saluda, SC and Joe B. Wright, Jr., Washington, DC; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a son-in-law, James M. Holloway; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Posey; one brother-in-law; two very close cousin, Deloise Correa and Lucy Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and many sorrowing friends.
"A Tribute To Our Mother" OurMotherhad ears to listen; Shealways took time to care; Ourhappiness was her ambition, Ourdreams and fears her's -to-share; She was allarms to shelter; When everything seemed to go wrong; We always felt the warmth of her comfort. She made us feel safe and so strong. Our mother had eyes to see us and other as we would like to be; She trusted and had confidence in us; she wanted everyone to be happy and free. Mother, we will miss yourbeautifulpersonalityand smile. We are praying hard that God will keep us until we again will meet in just a little while.
With Immeasurable Love, THE FAMILY

When I Must Leave You
When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not grieve and shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name Live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky!
Lovingly submitted -- THE FAMILY
We, the family of the late MRS. MATTIE LEE WRIGHT COLEMAN are grateful to our many friends for all acts of kindness shown to us during hour of bereavement. Words cannot adequately express how much your kind deeds have meant to us. May God richly bless each of you.
