Biography of Lorenza Cogfe
Lorenza "Lindy" Cogle, was born in Hephzibah, Georgia, the fourth child of eight born to the late Robert and Sarah Cogle. As a child, the family relocated to Augusta, Georgia. There, Lorenza spent her formative years, married, and later gave birth to her two children.
Though she earned a respectable living, her most revered and rewarding position was that of homemaker and mother. This being the job that she truly loved and wanted to be remem bered. ...,;. .....
Lorenza raised her children in Augusta. In 1963, she retired and relocated to the East Coast, residing in New Jersey for the past 30 years. However, she always referred to Augusta as her "home."
While in New Jersey, she took on yet another position that she held dearly, that of loving grandmother and mentor. In this role, she continued to provide a source of guidance and nurturance.
To some, her life may appear unremarkable. However, to those who knew Lorenza, her life was not only remarkable, but also inspiring. She will be missed, loved, and honored in the hearts and memories of many.
Lorenza is survived by her: two children, son, James L. Parker, and wife, Catherine, Augusta, GA; daughter, Dr. Charlotte Cogle DAntignac, New Jersey; three granddaughters, Sandra Nesbitt, Augusta, GA, Jacquita D. Hayes and Trinitra J. Hayes, both of New Jersey; three great-grandsons, Derrick Davis, Christopher Nesbitt and Kendrick Nesbitt, all of Augusta, GA; five greatgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Nania R. Davis; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In tribute
On Thursday , July 1 1 , 2002, a very special person, Lorenza Cogk, left this earth. At first, we were consoled by the thought that you would not suffer anymore. Then we realized that a vibrant force was gone forever. The person who was there when we needed something was now in Heaven.
You were so many things to us . You were a great mother. You were there for all of our functions , and for every milestone in our lives. You taught us to be strong and independent, just like you . Your smile and sense of humor got you through good and bad times, throughout your life. You stood up to everyone, even cancer.
It seems incomprehensible that you are no longer here. You have left a legacy that will live on forever. People will tell "Lorenza" stories and remember you with both a laugh and a smile . Although we miss you terribly , we know that you are in a better place . . . watching over us .
1 lave you, Mom.
Love, Charlotte and Family
