A celebration of life for Mrs. Lisa M. Butler Cobb, sunrise, July 29, 1970, sunset, September 28, 2013, Thursday, October 3, 2013, 11:00 a.m., Thankful Baptist Church, 302 Walker Street, Augusta, Georgia, Pastor Christopher J. Waters, officiating

Lisa, Well, I thought that any Home going services for the "Cousins" would come much later in life. As a child I thought the cycle of life of children, nephews and nieces were to out live their parents, uncle and aunts. But as I got older I learned that this isn't always how life goes. And as my five year old son told me that God said to him in a dream, "All things aren't meant for you to know in this world". I've struggled since Saturday on what I would say at my "favorite girl cousin" Home Going. I couldn't figure out if I should address the family. Well, I couldn't do this because I am family and it wouldn't make sense to speak to myself. So, I decided that I would say a few words directly to "My Cousin". Firstly, I want to say that I'm sorry that I couldn't be here today for your Home Going service. I believe that the body is made up of a spirit and certain things are revealed to us after we give up this body. So, you know how I feel about you and how much it hurts me not to be here today. Secondly, these are just a few things that I remember about our forty plus years as cousins. I remember ours days at grandma house when all the cousins would get dropped off each morning. I remember how we would look out while we each went into grandma's store and ate our share of her candy and cookies. (You remember those penny wheel cookies, squirrel nut candies and those big jar of pickles). I remember when ya'II moved on Royal Street and my mom and I would always stop by to visit or leave me there while Aunt Nora and Mom would go shopping. I remember, later in life, when ya'II moved to Atlanta, it wasn't one time that I didn't come to Atlanta or called you that you didn't take time to meet me somewhere. Most of all I remember how you made me feel good when you would always say, "My good-looking cousin". Lastly, I feel relief that you don't have to suffer anymore. My spirit tells me that the spirit doesn't know pain and suffering. I'm sure that our spirits will meet again. In the meantime, enjoy your days with your father. Look over your family and kids. And until we meet again, your "good-looking cousin" will cherish the moments we had on this earth.
Love, Steve
The pain and suffering, I feel no more because now I have stepped through Heaven's Door. Here the streets are made of gold and the air is
crystal clear. I am now at peace knowing that my God now holds me near.My work on Earth has been well done and now the next chapter of my life has begun. So to my Family, loved ones and friends whenever your feeling sad and don't know what to do. Just look up towards the sky because I will be looking down to carry you through. And to my children,
NEVER stray and I wil see you all up here in Heaven some day! Presented by George O'Bryant AKA "Sport"

Missing You I'm at a lost for words, my best friend has been taken from me. The long phone conversations, text messages, laughter, and the hugs
are what I will miss the most. There is no one in this world that can replace neither our friendship nor our sisterhood. A s selfish as it may seems, I find it unfair that you were taken from us so soon. But I know that God makes no mistakes. He obviously needs someone special to be his Angel and He chose you.
And what a wise choice he made because you have all of the characteristics of a PERFECT ANGEL.
Lisa, my best friend, my sister, my confidant, you have gotten your wings and flown from this earthly world and now HEA VEN is your HOME. Until
we meet again I know that you are shining down and looking upon us. Please help protect and guide us through each day as we try to live in
this world without you. Rest in Peace my dear sister; you will ALWAYS be remembered but never forgotten. Love Always, Your Sister; Sherry
Guiding Light Mom Mom, from the time I was really young,
I realized I had someone., you, Who always cared, who always protected me, Who was always there for me no matter what. You taught me right from wrong, and pushed me to do the right thing,
Even when it was hard to do. You took care of me when I was sick, And your love helped make me well. You had rules, and I learned that when I obeyed them,
My life was simpler; better, richer You were and are the guiding light of my life. My heart is filled with love for you, my teacher, my friend, my mother.
Your Children, Raven, Chandler and Mason
