A t an early age, M A R IE R E C E IV E D Christ as Saviour, was baptizeo ana became a member of Live O ak AoMoEo Church. She attended grade and boarding school in the Sante, South Carolina area,where she spent her childhood and early adulthood, She later relocated to the Augusta areao O nce settling in the Augusta area, M arie uniteo with the Bethel A. M, ,, Church fam ily and was im m ediately assigned to the Stewardess Board #3, where she served as treasurer as well as in other capacities in the church for more than 60 years.
Marie used her life as a beacon of Christian Light in the Augusta Com m unity as well as a tower of strength for her fam ily.
MRSo C L A Y " M A M A " as she is known to so many, leaves to mourn a loving son, Arthur Lee Perkins; a devoted daughter, Inez D. Anderson; twelve grand children; Jone IV. H udson,(of A u gu sta) Jean W. Carter, (o f A ugusta) R e v. R ich a rd Ho White, (o f A ugusta) N orm an Eo White, (o f A ugusta) Geraldine Greene, (o f Augusta) Ella Mae Holiday, (of Augusta) Ernest D oe, Jro, (of Augusta) Donald Doe, (of Belvedere) Michael J* Doe, (o f Augusta) Vanessa Do Randclp, (o f Augusta) Deborah Doe, (of Augusta) Henrietta Fields; forty-one great-grand children, thirteen great, great-grand children, a son-in-law , M r. Eddie J. Anderson, a daughter-in-law, M rso Bonnie Perkins as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces ano nephews and many long time friends.
