Obituary
Mr. Albert Clark of 901 Jenkins Street departed this life
September 9,1993 after a period of declining health. He was
the son of the late Thomas A. Clark and Anna Hampton Clark.
On January 23,1927 he married the former Lillie Mae Donald;
this union was blessed with one daughter, Anna Marie.
His early education was received in the Greenville Public
Schools.

After retirement from Claussen Bakery he continued working
with his wife at darks Flower Shop.
At an early age he joined Springfield Baptist Church where
he served as a faithful member of the Trustee Board and
Sunday School Class No. 5.
He was a quiet and unassuming person who was always
willing to lend a helping hand.
Love for his community caused him to be greatly involved in
the Sterling Community Center. He cherished and loved his
family, his church, his friends and his community.
Mr. Clark will be remembered by his gentle, kind and loving
personality. He has touched many lives in various ways. Many
of us will remember that clear, sweet musical whistle that filled
the air as he walked the streets of Greenville. Often it was his
favorite hymn, "Blessed Assurance".
Reflections of wonderful thoughts and loving memories will
be cherished by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mae Clark; one daughter,
Mrs. Anna Marie Smith; one grandson, Willie T. Smith, III; two
sisters, Mrs.. Willie Maude Simpkins of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs.
Minnie Clark Walker of Philadelphia, Pa.; several nieces, neph
ews, and many relatives and friends.

God hath not promised skies always blue,

Flower-sprinkled pathways all our lives through,
|;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe.
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.
But God hath promised strength for the day.
Rest for the laborer, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above.
Unfailing sympathy, undying love
