OBITUARY
Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for awhile and leave footprints On our hearts and we are never the same.

MR. WILLIAM HENRY CARPENTER departed this life on December 11, 2002, at home after an extended illness. He was born January 1, 1946, to Mrs. Ella Mae Carpenter and the late Mr. Lindsey Carpen ter, in Augusta, Georgia.

At an early age, he joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where

he served faithfully singing in the choir, attended BTU and partici

pated in other organizations under the leadership of the late H.W.

Phinizy, Sr.

.

Mr. Carpenter attended Charles T. Walker Elementary School, A.R. Johnson Junior High School and gradinrid from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1964. He also played baseball and football, worked many years for the Augusta City Water Department, Budget Sewers, Au gusta Industrial Sewage and C&S Fabricators in North Augusta.

"Chill" was married to Ms. Judy Briggs. To this union two children were born:

He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Ella Mae Carpenter; four sons, Henre (Felicia) Carpenter and William (Kathy) Carpen ter, both of Houston, Texas, Keith Gordon and Tyrese Hopgood, both of Augusta, Georgia; four brothers, Lindsey Carpenter, Jr., Frank (Gloria) Carpenter, Leon (Andrena) Carpenter, Charles (Yvonne) Carpenter, all of Augusta, Georgia; four sisters, Dorothy M. Shaw, Georgia Mae Smith and Florence (Charley) May, all of Augusta, Georgia and Annie (Daniel) Grant, Anchorage, Alaska; five grand children; two aunts, Grace Holliman and Hattie Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, relatives and friends.
