1929 - 2007
>*^oanna Campbell-Miller was born August 10, 1929 in \JJ Miami, FL to the late Cyril A. and Esther Farrington f Campbell.

She attended school in Dade County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was united with Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Miami under the late Rev. L. A. Thompson.
She moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1963 and united with Truvine Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. J. L. Stephens. Over the next 30 years, she served the Lord through various church activities. She was the assistant teacher for Sunday School Class #4, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Senior Women Ministry. She also used her culinary talent, for which she was well known, by serving as head of the kitchen committee for hospitality needs of the church. It has been said of her "that if a ministry were to be given in feeding the hungry, Joanna would surely have been ordained." Her kitchens were her love and cooking was her passion. Yet, she was never at a loss to give testimony about the Lord.
Prior to moving to Sarasota she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Miami. Upon moving to Sarasota she opened her own restau rant. Later she joined the staff of J. H. Floyd Sunshine Manor and retired after thirty years. She then worked part-time for over ten years for Sarasota County School System in the food services department at Gocio Elementary School. She was a member of the Dietary Managers Association.
She leaves to cherish her memories seven sons and two daugh ters, Nathaniel, Rudolph, Louis (Yvette), Jeffrey (Lisa), and An thony, all of Sarasota, FL, Toussaint of Baltimore, MD, Stephen Charles (Susan) of Columbus, NC, Lenore "Cookie" of Miami, FL, and Dorothy Ann of Augusta, GA; twenty-four grandchil dren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; one sister, Lenore of Mi ami, FL; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
