A Tribute to MAMA JEAN
As long as the stars shine down from the heavens And the rivers run to the sea
I 'll never get over my angel - 1 know she's watching me Since the hour that you left me, I 've tried not to let the hurt show
Telling everyone that I 'm okay - okay to see you go But my tears w on't go away, and the pain burns deep inside To know that my grandmother and bestfriend is no longer by my side What do I do without my angel who has always held my hand It was you that kept me grounded and helped me understand That you'd never lead me wrong, no matter how much I disobeyed Now y o u 've left me and I wonder why you didn 't care enough to stay I know you 're in a better place now, but I 'm alone andfree
Fighting my own battles - that you used tofightfor me But because you loved me, I 've overcome, and I 'm trying to succeed
To make it in this unfit world without your security I can still remember the day, and the words playback constantly
"She's gone ", they told me and I fell to my knees to pray remorsefully Now late at night while the world's asleep, I stay up and think o fyou
Knowing deep inside that you never left and you 're thinking o f me, too Love Your Granddaughter, Kristen
