A Fallen Limb A limb has fa llen from the fa m ily tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not fo r me. Remember the best tunes, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. M y mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with y ou r life, don't worry about fa lls I miss you all dearly, so keep up you r chin. U ntil the day comes we're together again.

David Quentin Bum s was greeted in the earth realm on M ay 3, at 4 .4 0 a.m. by his parents Sloan Burns, Jr . (deceased) and
M ary Quincy Burns at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Walhalla, SC. He was the second o f two children.
Though born in South Carolina, David was raised in Toccoa and graduated from Stephens County High School in 4993. He contin ued on to further his education and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Morris Brown College in Atlanta. He was a member o f the fraternities o f Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi M u Alpha; and also a member o f the Morris Brown College Concert Choir. He also continued to sing in his fam ily's group, Anointed. After college, David made Atlanta his home. He was employed by Home Depot, Inc. in the Human Resources Department, was active in his community and was surrounded and supported by his many college friends and fraternity7brothers. David was a member o f Trin ity7, C M E Church in Toccoa and attended .Antioch Baptist Church North; Rev. Cameron Alexander, Pastor. He touched the lives o f many with his love o f singing and trademark dry7humor and was de voted in every aspect o f his life; as a son, brother, relative and friend.
After a long battle with heart disease, David departed this natural realm and was ushered into the spiritual realm on Tuesday, January 3-1, 204 2 at Cobb Memorial Hospital. He will forever be remem bered by his devoted brother Dwight Eugene and his loving mother Mary Quincy.
He also leaves to mourn his maternal grandmother, Julia Ann Wheeler o f Toccoa, his aunts Diane Bums, Thelma Vega (Au gustin), Zora Bell Tukes, Rev. Quilla D Scott (Rev. D.T. Scott), Ja n ice Marie Hodges, Yvonne Wheeler, all o f Toccoa; and Jackie Breland (Roland), Wiggins, M S.; and his uncle, Larry Bums o f Athens; a God son, Tyder A. Knox; one nephew, Korbin Burns, two nieces Kristen Aliana Burns, Kadaisha Hart, a host o f cousins and many close friends.
