Obituary
A Time to Be Born:
March 4,1918 in Columbia County, Georgia to the late Prince and Sarah Dunn.
A Time to Plant:
In 1949 Mae Frances began a career with Services Directorate Laundry Division at Fort Gordon, Georgia. She retired January 21.1969. Mae Frances was always known as "Aunt Frances" to everyone. She touched the lives of not only her family members, but also the community. She enjoyed cooking and feeding the whole neighborhood. Her favorite saying was "If you need to borrow anything more than one time you need to buy it yourself".
A Time to Serve:
At an early age, she joined the Water Branch Baptist Church in Grovetown, Georgia and served faithfully as financial assistant until she became ill.
A Time to Love:
Mae Frances had no biological children; in 1950 she was blessed with a niece, Sarah Jean Dunn and a nephew, Henry Richard Dunn, whom she raised as daughter and son. She was united in marriage to Arthur Burnett who preceded her in death. Her siblings, James Frank Stephens, Walton Dunn, Henry Dunn, Eugene Dunn, Joe Dunn, Rich Bennett and Polly Dorsey have preceded her in death.
A Time to Die:
Mae Frances was a resident at Golden Living Center-Windermere for five years. Her demise came on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 9:32 P.M. at Doctors Hospital Augusta, Georgia.
A Time to Mourn:
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Sarah Jean (SGM Ret James Jr.) Thomas; son, Henry Richard Dunn; great niece and great, great nephews reared like grandchildren and great grandchildren, Bridgett T. Burley, Xavier Prince Charles Washington and Quentin Rashad Burley; one sister, Carrie Dunn; one aunt, Leida Bell Curtis of Harlem, Georgia; a special niece, Mary (Luther) Prescott of Philadelphia, PA: a special nephew, Jerry Lewis Boyd of Hephzibah, Georgia; devoted nieces and nephews, Minister Louise Boyd, Mattie Ramsey, Rosie Raiford, Lorine Scott, Walter Dorsey, all of Harlem, Georgia; devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Germany, Mrs. Jessie Wilson, Mrs. Gladys Bennings, Mrs. Dochia Emory, Mrs. Helen Graham. Mrs. Willie Maude Thomason, Mrs. Eliza Emery and Mr. Charles Conwell; a host of wonderful and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned my hack and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day.
If m\ parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friend shared, a laugh, a kiss. Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full; I savored much, good friends, good times, and a love one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift your hearts and peace to thee. God wants me now; He set me free.

The celebration of life. Shared in the beginning, and again, in the end. Yet we forget to celebrate it, in every moment we live.
Time, days, years, go on, but are we alive ? Alive and do not know it, sleeping in the world
And dead to the life we are to live. To celebrate all life,
The sparrow who sang in the morning, And died in the night.
Why do we not celebrate its life? To know thyself is to know yon are aliveTo give, to love, to seek truth, beauty, and suffer pain. In life as it is meant to be, pain is forgotten, and
Strength is all that's left to be gained In the moment by moment celebration of life.
