A in Ellek Brown was born on September 25, 1928, in McBean, Georgia, to the late, Allen Johnson and Julia Mathis Brown.
He later moved to New York where he met and was united in Holy Matrimony to Eddie Mae Wood. To this union, six children were born.
Mr. Brown was a World War II Veteran, and proudly served bis country in the United States Army.
He loved the Lord, spreading the Gospel as a recording artist, performing with "The Mighty Gospel Supremes" all over the world. N ot only did he spread the Gospel through music, he shared it in Bible studies that he often held at his dining room table. In addition to being a recording artist, Mr. Brown was an Upholster. H e loved the profession and retired in 2003.
On Wednesday, September 27, 2006, Ellek Brown made the transition from this life into the presence o f God's domain. He leaves memories that will be forever cherished in the our hearts, his wife, Mrs. Eddie Mae Brown, Augusta, Georgia; five sons, Arnett Brown, Bronx, New York, Larry Brown, Brooklyn, New York, Tyrone Brown, Ivan Brown and David Brown, all o f Augusta, Georgia; one daughter, Fran Brown Paris; one son-in-law, Michael Paris, Norwalk, Connecticut; two brothers, Alfornia (Toby) Mathis, Augusta, Georgia and George Mathis, Hamden, Connecticut; sixteen grandchildren; one Goddaughter, Ruth Change; one Godson, Tyrone Darrian; life long friend, Arthur Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
