May 3, 1933 - December 25, 2006 Friday, December 29, 2006 1:00 p.m.

On Christmas morning at 1:45 am our beloved Godfather of Soul entered into eternal rest after a life of unequal achievements and unparallel success. He achieved many accolades and titles in his life such as, "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business", "Soul Brother #1," "Mr. Dynamite" "Mr. Please, Please, Please," but among these the one he aspired to the most was Daddy and Granddaddy. He is survived by
several family and friends: daughters - Venisha Brown, Deanna Brown Thomas (Shawn), Dr. Yamma Brown Lumar (Darren), sons - Terry Brown (Dahlia), Larry Brown, Daryl Brown (Stacy), and James Brown II, grandchildren - Tonya Brown, Romaunzo Brown, Forlando Brown, Lindsey Brown, Jason Brown-Lewis, Janice Brown, Sydney Lumar and Carrington Lumar, great-grandchildren - Sequoia Walton, Chelsea Dean, Chandler Fegan and Aurelia Brown, aunt - Jettie Loadholt and trusted companions Tommi Rae Hynie, Rev. Al Sharpton, Charles Bobbit, Buddy Dallas, David Cannon and special recognition to his personal assistants Ella Overton and David Washington. He is preceded in
death by his father and mother Joseph and Susie B?*own and son Teddy Brown.
