. CJames (. CpPop) (]}ro\vn, CJr., was born Febru ary 16, 1945. He was the son of the late Mr. James Brown, Sr., and Mrs. Mary Golphin Brown.

At an early age, he came to know Christ, and received his baptism at Second Shiloh Baptist Church.

James was a 1964 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. He further advanced his education by obtaining a Licensed Practical Nurse Degree at Augusta Technical College. For several years, he was employed at University Hospital.

During his lifetime, he proudly served in the Army as a Sergeant, achieving many honors to include: Vietnam Ser vice Medal w/one Bronze Service Star; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Army Commendation Medal w/ one Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Medal Number 2; Marksman (Rifle) and Marksman (M60MG).

He departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2003, at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted sister, Mrs.

Mary B. (Robert) Williams; one aunt, Catherine Golphin;

a special niece, Daphne Brown; a dear friend, Ms. Bernice

Milton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear

friends.
