Obituary
Early Tuesday morning, April 5, 2005, God sent an angel to gently guide another one of His children home. James GarneW brooks answered the call to eternity. James was the son of Deacon Hammie James and the late Jannette McMillian Brooks. James was born on March 15, 1964. He was united with the Mt. Calvary B aptist Church in Ulmers, SC and attended both Macedonia B aptist Church and Greater Faith Ministries.
James was a multitalented and gifted individual. He demonstrated remarkable musical and a rtis tic talents. A fte r leaving Barnwell High
School, he attended both Voorhees College and Claflin University. He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
He leaves behind a devoted and loving father, Deacon Hammie James Brooks; two children, Shavonne Brooks of Brooklyn, NY and Cedric Cusack of Florence, SC; three sisters, Min. Sandra Brooks of Augusta, GA, Karen Brooks of Augusta, GA and Beverly Davis (Dr. Sam Davis) of North Augusta, SC; two brothers, Kenneth Brooks of Cleveland, OH and Barney Green of Blackville, SC; one nephew, Marques Brooks of Augusta, GA and one niece, Ashleigh Brooks of Augusta, GA along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins

The Road Less Traveled
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as ju st as fair, And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there
