On Wednesday, July 20, 1994, God called one of his faithful servants to rest, Ms. Mottle F. Blaylock. She was bom to the late Dea. Matthew (Lottie Fletcher) Blaylock on August 31, 1918 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
It was during her early childhood that she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the Hammond Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. A. W. Vincent.
She acquired her formal education from the C.T. Walker Elementary School, Paine College, Augusta, Georgia and she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Benedict College, Columbia, South Carolina.
She taught in the Allendale County School System. She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lenwood Division and was a member of the Union Rising Stars Society.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted daughter, Mrs. Phyllis (Dea. Bobby) Henley, North Augusta, SC; one brother, Mr. Freeman Blaylock, Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, Bobby M. Henley, Jr., Deidra D. Henley, Michele L. Henley and Jon Craig Henley, all of North Augusta, SC; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Rosa L. Blaylock and Mrs. Clara M. Blaylock, North Augusta, SC; two dear friends, Mrs. Jeanetta Adams and Mrs. Retha B. Morton, North Augusta, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
