** OBITUARY **
Derrick B. Blackwell JULY 29, 1964 JULY 4, 1979 Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world. : Derrick B. Blackwell departed this life July 4, 1979. He re ceived salvation and the baptism in the Holy Spirit July 25, 1977. Winning souls for Christ was tremendously important to Derrick. God allowed his parents to witness his spiritual growth. Derrick possessed a very pleasing and winning personality and humble spirit to those he came in contact with, trying to let the light of Jesus shine through him.
Derrick received his education at Bryant Elementary in Phila., Pa., Martinez Elementary, Martinez, Georgia and Evans Junior High in Evans, Georgia, where he proved to be a challenge to many of his teachers. He was affiliated with the football, track, and basketball teams. Derrick received many awards in the athle tic field such as the "best defensive lineman" from Evans Jr. High in 1978, trophies from Columbia Co. Recreational Dept. and others.
Derrick will be greatly missed by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby L. Blackwell, Sr.; one sister, Ms. Yvette M. Blackwell; one brother, Master Bobby L. Blackwell, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dozier of Phila., Pa., and Mrs. Mary Blackwell, Charlotte, N. C.; one great grandfather, Mr. Lace Rouse, Lincolnton, Ga.; five aunts, Mrs. Elizabeth Elam, Martinez, Ga., Mrs. Sarah Frazier and Ms. Shirley Dozier of Phila., Pa., Mrs. The resa Leeks, Hephzibah, Ga., Ms. Mary Katherine Blackwell, Char lotte, N. C.; four uncles,Mr. Johnny Dozier, Phila., Pa., Mr. Freddie Dozier, New York, N. Y., Mr. Hosea Blackwell, Augusta, Ga.; nine great aunts, four great uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
