Obituary
On Thursday morning, April 15, 2QQ^ Andrew Eelser, Sr. answered his Fathers call to eternal rest.
May 22, 1942, a baby boy brought joy into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam D. Belser in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the oldest son of thirteen siblings.
Andrew was converted at an early age and was an active member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida.
He attended public school in Washington County where he graduated from Roulhac High School in Chipley, Florida in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduation. He retired from the military after 20 years of service. He was a Civil Service employee for 10 years.
Andrew married Betty Thomas on December 15, 1962. To this union five children were born. His spiritual union was with The Greater Young Zion Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia under the
pastorage of Reverend William B. Blount. He served on the Board of Trustees, a member of the Pastor Support Ministry, and worked on the Food Service Committee as a cook.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Betty Belser; five sons, Andrew (Sandra) Belser, Jr. of Rex, Georgia, Tony (Kendra) Belser of Hephzibah, Georgia, Deryl (Nikyta) Belser of Madison, Georgia, Tristram Belser of Augusta, Georgia, and Adrian Belser of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; two daughters, Andretta (Steven) Gandy of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Shelia Fuller of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; six brothers, Peter (Betty) Belser and Moses (Geraldine) Belser, both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Otis Belser of Pensacola, Florida, Fredrick (Brenda) Belser of Salina, Kansas, Travis (Saundra) Belser and David (Susan) Belser, both of Atlanta, Georgia; six sisters, Ida Jones, Connie (Roy) Reel and Carol Belser, all of Chicago, Illinois, Elouise Harmon and Edna (Randolph) Ford, both of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Odyessa (Benjamin) Burden of Southfield, Michigan; aunts, Eddie Mae Grant of Montgomery, Alabama and Gustavia Thorton of Hope Hull, Alabama; father-in-law, Eugene (Louise) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hutchins and Ann (Jessie) Walker, both of Pensacola, Florida and Mary (Samuel) Byrd of Alachua, Florida; brother-in-law, Henry Myrick of Atlanta, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, two God-children; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
