Obituary
Dea. Willie Bell, St., the son of the late Joe and Cattie Bell, departed this life at his residence on Saturday, June 26, 1993. He was born on October 21, 1906 in Barnwell County, South Carolina.
At an early age he joined the Union Branch Baptist Church now in Williston, South Carolina. He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and President of the Usher Board. He was a member of the Dunbarton Masonic Lodge and Dunbarton Branch of NAACP.
He was married on December 8,1927 to the late Flaura Cave Bell. To this union nine children were born. Two sons preceded him in death.
His memory shall live on in the lives of many devoted, warm and wonderful family members and friends; among those constituents are: three daughters, Josie B. Stallings, Queens Village, N.Y., Sarah B. Glover and Annie B. Robinson, both of Augusta, Ga.; four sons, Willie J. Bell, Aiken, S.C., Eugene R. Bell and Escoe E. Bell, both of Boston, Ma. and Bell, Atlanta, Ga.; twenty-four grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Emethel B. Alien, Philadelphia, Pa.; four brothers, Joe Bell, Jr., North Augusta, S.C., Elmore Bell and Croslyn Bell, both of Jacksonville, Fla. and Fred Bell, Aiken, S.C.; four daughters-in-law, Aliphare H. Bell, Aiken, S.C., Connie M. Bell, Atlanta, Ga., Vermeil Bell and Lonzenar Bell, both of Boston, Ma.; two sons-in-law, Dea. Fred Stallings, Queens Village, N.Y. and Rev. Barney Glover, Augusta, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Inez Bell, Jacksonville, Fla., Ida Bell, Aiken, S.C., Janie Barker, Augusta, Ga. and Sarah Williamson, West New York, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, Dea. John Alien, Philadelphia, Pa. and John W. Williams, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a great number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
