She was born June 14, 1922, in Lincoln County, Georgia to the late George Beard, Sr. and the late Minnie Douglas Beard.

At an early age, she was converted and joined the Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church in Lincolnton, Georgia.

She was a lover of people and would lend a helping hand wher ever she could. She loved her children and was very caring.

Her daughter, Ms. Brenda Thomas, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a devoted daughter, Mrs. Jackie (Kenneth) Sealy, Fairhurn, Georgia; son, Mr. Johnny Hawes, Newman, Georgia; brother, Mr. George Beard, Lincolnton, Georgia; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
