Remember, there are many things that we cannot under stand . . . But we must trust Gods wisdom and be guided by His Hand.
Mr. Thomas Beard was a native of Lincoln County and lived in the Leverett community most of his life. He was the son of the late Mr. George Beard I and Mrs. Minnie Douglas Beard.
He professed his faith and accepted Christ as his Lord and Master and united with the membership of the Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church. The ideals and moral values by which he lived and the love and sense of service which he expressed so eloquently throughout his life form a lasting record worthy of admiration.
A compassionate, warm, and loving person was "Little Boy" as he was affectionately known both far and near. For many years, no doubtly ill, he kept quite a few peoples yards cleaned until his health failed him. He was united into holy wedlock to the late Mrs. Clara Beard, and to this union six children were born.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church where he attended until his health failed.
On Sunday morning, January 19, 1992, the death angel beckoned, calling Thomas Beard to his reward.
Those who will miss him most: his children, Mrs. Betty J. Grant of Jamaica, N.Y., Mrs. Shirley A. Faison of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mrs. Sarah F. Blackwell of Augusta, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Beard and Mr. Donnie Beard of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mr. Jessie Beard of Akron, Ohio; two daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law; one sister, Mrs. Pearl B. Beard of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. George Beard II and Mr. Johnny Beard of Lincolnton, Ga.; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his passing.

God with his infinite wisdom and His amazing grace, He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful, for He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering; He knew you were in pain. He knew you never would get well upon this earth again. He saw the roads getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine. " It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you the day God called you home.
