One whom we love has fallen asleep Not dead, although his calm be deep Some new unknown, and strange surprise
In heaven holds enrapt his eyes.
He went his way, but on he trod, The path that led him straight to God Such lives as this put death to scorn They lose our day, to find Gods morn.
Lord, help us so to live That, when death waiting stands In child-like faith and trust we II give
Our souls into His hands.
