Mr. Ephran Appling, age 86, entered into rest at his home on Rt. 3, Box 212, July 9, 1973, at 7:00 p. m., Lincolnton, Georgia, after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1885. He was a native of Lincoln County and lived his entire life here.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he joined in 1960. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Good Samaritan Lodge.
Survivors are: a devoted wife, Mrs. Hattie W. Appling of Lincolnton, Ga.; six daughters, Mrs. Louise Clarks and Mrs. Betty Joe Blackmon, both of Lincolnton, Ga. Mrs. Mattie Kate Warren of Plane, N. J., Mrs. Glady Mae Hogan of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Geneva Jones of New Jersey and Miss Pearlene Appling of Boston, Mass.; two sons, Willie Appling and L. M. Appling, both of Lincolnton, Ga.; 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren ;a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
