A Time to be Born... Miss Essie was born on October 27, 1919 in Hamburg, South Carolina to the late Reverend and Mrs. Edmund Drummonds.
A Time to Live... At an early age she was baptized at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church. Later in life she became a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior Choir, served on the Mission Board, among other things.
A Time to Love... In 1946, Essie was united in matrimony to the late Alfonso Anderson. To this union was born two daughters and two sons.
A Time to Work... Miss Essie devoted her life to mentoring children in the classrooms of South Carolina, the Bethlehem Center in Augusta and the Augusta Youth Development Center.
A Time to Die... On Wednesday, May 25, 2005 Miss Essie was called to her heavenly home.
A Time to Mourn... Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mrs. Alfa Anderson Barfield and Ms. Cynthia Willette Anderson; two sons, Mr. Thomas Edward Anderson and Mr. Lawrence Keith Anderson; one granddaughter, Natanyah Hope Anderson; one sister, Mrs. Lela L. Stewart; one son-in-law, Mr. Eluriel Barfield; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Anderson and a host of other adopted children, relatives and friends.

our mistakes and always picked us up when we fell. Most importantly, we are thankful to you for giving us your simple
remedy for overcoming the challenges of life - for sore throats, sprained ankles and body aches, vise salt water. For everything else, try GOD.
