Robert Kay Anderson, M. D. was born February 9, 1935 in Atlanta, Ga. He was reared in Augusta, Ga. by his devoted foster parents, Mrs. Lillie Kay Buckner and the late Charlie Buckner. He attended the public schools of Richmond County, and at the age of 15, graduated from the Lucy C. Laney High School. He receiv ed the B. S. Degree from Morehouse College and the M. D. De gree from Meharry Medical College.
Employed at the V. A. Hospital Lenwood Division he was the first black psychiarist in Augusta, and one of only five black psychiarists in the State of Georgia.
He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, and was on the first Board of Directors of the Masters City Little League.
He was an active member of the following organizations: Stoney Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Society; Augusta Morehouse Club; Morehouse Torchbearers; Alpha Chi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; National Medical Association; Georgia Medical Association; Veterans of Foreign Wars; C. B. Club, International. . i
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tanya Bryant Anderson; Y son, Geoffrey Todd Anderson; mother, Mrs. Mildred Lovelist; foster mother, Mrs. Lillie Kay Buckner; father-in-law, Howard Norfleet; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; two aunts; other relatives and friends.
