I'm Tree
Don'tgrieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my hack and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way Ifound peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times ofsorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your hearts, and share with me, God wanted me NOW, He has set me free.

Obituary
Leroy Allen, Jr. answered the call of His Lord and Savior on December 6, 2009 at the Veterans Hospital at 6:30 P.M.. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humanity and service to his family and friends.
Leroy Allen Jr. was born on June 30, 1924 in Allendale, South Carolina to the late Leroy and Louise Alfair B. Allen. He received his early, formal education in the schools of Aiken County. He was a Veteran of WWII and attended Paine College where he met Gwen Gaines. They later married and to this union they had a daughter Harriett the delight of their hearts.
Leroy was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over forty years. He served on the Trustee Board; he sang with the E.L. Stewart Choir and served on the Board of the Tabernacle Credit Union.
Leroy retired in 1989 from the United States Postal Service after forty years of service. He was also an active member of the National Alliance of Postal and Federal Employees. In his spare time, Leroy had a passion for photography and enjoyed it until his health began to fail. Gwen devoted herself to him, as well as his daughter Harriett. His nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins and friends made sure he didn't miss any family gatherings, that he enjoyed immensely.
Leroy leaves many to cherish his memory and thank the Lord for the blessing of his life and companionship. He leaves his wife of 55 years Ruth "Gwen" Allen; his daughter Harriett; two brothers, Carl (Beverly) and Perry Allen of Aiken, South Carolina; a god son, Kenneth Jakes; a god daughter, Jennifer Murphy; a sister-in-law, Doris Dunton and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
